If you’re anything like me, you know that returning to the weekday grind after a "day off" that was actually just an undercover errand-running marathon feels like a rude awakening. Even though I was technically taking a breather earlier in the week, my phone and inbox certainly didn't get the memo. So, walking back into the office routine felt like I hadn't skipped a beat at all.

And speaking of office routines, I completely fell right back into my old bad habits. I sat chained to my desk from 9:00 AM straight through to nearly 4:00 PM without getting up. I know better than that. We preach about balance and taking breaks, but some days the workflow just swallows you whole. Obviously, today was that day.

The Grant Results Are In

The big news of the day dropped when I found out we didn’t land one of the top three spots in our Kauffman cohort. I’m not going to front—it's a little bittersweet. But a massive, well-deserved congratulations are in order for the ladies who did take home the top spots! They have incredible businesses, and they are so intentional about the work they’re putting in.

Here’s the thing, though: I am definitely not a sore loser. I'll always give credit where credit is due, and the grind certainly doesn’t stop here. When I first stepped into this program, my primary excitement wasn't even about the cash prize—it was about getting access to the Levan Center and all of those game-changing resources. That value is still there, the vision is still intact, and the work keeps moving forward no matter what. You take the loss in stride, adjust the sails, and keep building.

Lord Farquaad Hair & Bank Runs

Of course, no day in my life is complete without a solid moment of comedy to humble myself. When I finally dragged myself away from the screen to make a mad dash to two different banks before closing time, I caught my reflection in a glass window.

I stopped dead in my tracks and thought, Why is my hair very much giving Lord Farquaad right now?!

I am such a nut sometimes, but you just have to laugh at yourself and keep walking. Between the Lord Farquaad hair moment, fighting typical South Florida weather, and trying to stay on track with my fasting schedule, it was a whirlwind.

By the time I made it back home, I was completely drained. I ended up crashing for a solid nap, waking up just in time to hang out with Jose while he heated up some late-night food. I'm happy to report my fasting discipline held strong—even if that food smelled absolutely heavenly!

The Takeaway

This entire 365-day journey is about rolling with the punches. It's about handling disappointing news with grace, laughing at your own hilarious hair mishaps, and refusing to let a minor setback stop the momentum.

Thank you so much for riding along with me through the highs, the lows, and the everyday grind. If you're facing a pivot or a closed door this week, just remember: the work doesn't stop here. Drop a comment below and make sure you're subscribed!
